THE CHALLENGE
Fleets at secure, remote and off-grid sites can't rely on SIMs or the cloud — so today they fall back to paper registers and hope. Position, gate movements and fuel all go unrecorded the moment connectivity drops.
What today looks like
An untracked fleet is a liability that compounds with every trip.
ECOSYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
Each vehicle edge node, fixed gate device and the depot computer is a peer on a sub-GHz mesh — no carrier, no fixed infrastructure. Data buffers on the device and offloads only at the hard-coded depot geofence.
Vehicle Edge Node
Positioning, storage, display, fuel sensing & analytics
Mesh + RS-485
Gate Counter Device
Verifies OTP and creates auto entry / exit records
Wireless mesh
Depot Computer
Pulls logs at the hard-coded sync point; local reports
Mesh / local link
Wireless Mesh
SIM-less peer-to-peer transport linking every node
Sub-GHz radio
HOW IT WORKS
Lock position — NavIC + GPS
The node locks onto NavIC L5 + S-band and GPS for a sovereign, independent fix — used for logging and geofencing, even where commercial GPS is jammed.
Log locally, autonomously
Fixes, trips and fuel data write to compact, wear-levelled onboard storage at a configurable interval — and on events like ignition or geofence crossing. Weeks of history, no connectivity needed.
Auto-entry at the gate
At a gate, the node shows a one-time code on its display. The Gate Counter Device verifies the OTP over the mesh and logs a time-stamped entry / exit automatically — no manual register.
Geofenced sync at the depot
Only when the vehicle reaches its hard-coded depot geofence does VMS-O offload its signed track to the depot computer — over the mesh or a local link, never a public network.
FEATURE SET
VMS-O is engineered to run continuously off the vehicle supply and retain a complete operational record across long periods with no connectivity.
Wireless Mesh
Short-range, SIM-less sub-GHz mesh for vehicle-to-gate and vehicle-to-depot links — no cellular network, no internet.
NavIC / GPS
Multi-constellation positioning with NavIC as the primary source for accurate, independent fixes used in logging and geofencing.
Local Storage
Onboard non-volatile storage holds tracks, trips and fuel data in a compact, wear-levelled format for extended offline autonomy.
OTP Display
On-device display presents a one-time code to authenticate the vehicle at gates and during data handover.
VFMS-O Compatible
Native integration with the fuel subsystem over the internal RS-485 bus — fuel and location data fused and stored together.
ONE ECOSYSTEM
The two subsystems share one edge node, one mesh and one depot sync. The integration is what turns separate location and fuel streams into real fleet intelligence — VFMS-O adds the fuel monitoring subsystem.
Internal RS-485 bus
Reliable, short-range link between the two subsystems on the same edge node.
Distance → fuel fusion
VMS-O distance combined with VFMS-O fuel yields true mileage and per-trip consumption.
Unified record
Position, trip, fuel and alerts stored together and offloaded as a single dataset.
Shared sync & display
One geofenced depot offload and one OTP display serve both subsystems.
DATA HANDLING · SECURITY
Because the system is offline and air-gapped, the attack surface is intentionally small. The remaining controls protect data at rest and during the brief, authenticated exchanges between nodes.
