THE CHALLENGE
On fleets without connected monitoring, fuel slips away through drains, skimming and guesswork. By the time a paper log surfaces the gap, the litres are long gone and there’s no trail to follow.
What today looks like
Untracked fuel is a budget line that quietly bleeds out.
SENSING & ANALYTICS
Sense fuel continuously
VFMS-O acquires fuel level or flow continuously and applies on-device filtering to reject the noise from vehicle movement, slope and vibration — so every reading is stable.
Fuse distance from VMS-O
Stable fuel readings combine with the distance and trip context supplied by VMS-O over the RS-485 bus, producing accurate km/L and true per-trip consumption.
Detect fuel events
An on-device event engine classifies refills, drains and consumption anomalies as they happen — deterministic, tamper-evident, and entirely offline.
Alert & sync
Alerts surface immediately on the VMS-O display and are carried over the mesh to the depot at the next geofenced sync. Fill and drain alerts protect against loss; maintenance alerts pre-empt failures.
CAPABILITIES
Every metric is computed on the edge node — no cloud processing, nothing leaving the vehicle until a depot sync.
Trip-based consumption
Fuel consumed per trip, segmented by journey between recognised start and end points.
Mileage efficiency
Running efficiency of the vehicle, trended to surface drift in performance over time.
Distance per litre
Kilometres travelled per litre, derived by fusing NavIC / GPS distance with fuel used.
Fuel refill history
Automatic detection and logging of refuelling events with quantity and location.
Fuel usage trends
Consumption patterns over time to support planning and anomaly detection.
Fill / drain alerts
Alerts on sudden fuel rises (fills) and abnormal drops (drain / theft) over time.
Maintenance alerts
Service-due alerts based on accumulated distance, running time and usage.
ALERTING
Alerts are raised locally and surfaced on the VMS-O display, then carried over the mesh to the depot at the next sync — so loss is caught early and service happens before failure.
Fuel fill
Rapid increase in fuel level consistent with refuelling.
Fuel drain / theft
Abnormal decrease in fuel level not explained by normal consumption.
Efficiency drift
Sustained drop in mileage efficiency against the vehicle baseline.
Maintenance due
Accumulated distance, running hours or usage crossing a service threshold.
ONE ECOSYSTEM
The two subsystems share one edge node, one mesh and one depot sync. The integration is what turns separate location and fuel streams into real fleet intelligence — VMS-O adds the vehicle management & positioning subsystem.
Internal RS-485 bus
Reliable, short-range link between the two subsystems on the same edge node.
Distance → fuel fusion
VMS-O distance combined with VFMS-O fuel yields true mileage and per-trip consumption.
Unified record
Position, trip, fuel and alerts stored together and offloaded as a single dataset.
Shared sync & display
One geofenced depot offload and one OTP display serve both subsystems.
DATA HANDLING · SECURITY
Because the system is offline and air-gapped, the attack surface is intentionally small. The remaining controls protect data at rest and during the brief, authenticated exchanges between nodes.
